Thoughts on tech pt. 2
The class turned out okay , at the beginning I had my doubts and thought it was going to be very boring and annoying the whole year but I have had so fun learning the background stuff of having a good show. I've learned how to work live sound, how to record and edit tracks. And they group's are playing good song and playing them good so that's good. There has been a few times where fiddling with a track trying to get the best sound has got on my last nerves and I had to walk away but overall its been a good learning experience and for next year when I'm the talent and have techs around me I'll know what they are going through and will appreciate them for it.
How Do I Use Music? How Does Music Use Me ?
How I use music is mostly to do with my mood. If I'm depressed I listen to strong hardcore music that's kinda angry. If I'm in a happy mood the music relates to my mood, the music is very upbeat and awesome. Music has got me through a lot of hard times with dealing with break ups, family stress and death. If I didn't have music with me I would be the kind of person I'm today. Music also helps me in school with relaxing from studying and it also helps me study.

Response # 1
I'm responding the grahammer's first rant on "The Pros and Cons of Music." Graham did a decently nice job on giving the reasons why music helps you study. I would have just arranged the whole thing a bit better and not made it so jumbled up. There are some points where Graham says basically the same thing over and over. Example he says that music may or may not distract you a lot in it. Some words may be different but, it basically the same " music helps you do this and this but it can distract you and mess up your focus." other than that Graham did a good job.

Just a Random Post
In My blog on a few entries i say that i don't listen to Most of the 70's-80's bands. I don't not like them and I certainly don't think they suck. I know for a fact that with out them most of the bands today wouldn't be around. Those bands paved the way for bands today. Lots of the bands today are greatly influenced by the great bands of the 80's. I just prefer not listening to them, its not my style of music I listen to. There are a lot of differences in there style of music and i do listen to most of them just some of them to me sound the same and are overplayed way to much and get worn out.
I do listen and like lots of bands and I have nothing against them in any way, but some of them need to just realize that they had their run and where on top for a long time now they need to just settle down and watch the new bands that are influenced by them have their run on top and pave the way for future bands.

Rant #1 Screamin' Haters
Screaming, growling, pig squeal all different unique ways to sing. Screaming has come along way since the days of Aroesmith and the rest of the 80's. Now you hear a lot more of it in bands like The Devil Wears Prada, Alexisonfire, All That Remains, August Burns Red and many more use screaming as a way to present their music in a unique way. There are a lot of bands out there that don't use screaming in all their music just a bit. Now screaming has a large fan base to it, and its getting bigger each time someone listens to it.
There are the haters of this music though. some people say that "this screaming" is unnecessary and satanic because of the sound. They say the sound encourages anger and violence. They don't take the time to listen to the lyrics and what they mean. They are just raddled by the way its presented, but in actuality there is a lot of meaning. Bands like The Devil Wears Prada is built on screaming and if you don't know them they are a CHRISTIAN!!!! band ya that's right their biggest influence is a man by the name of Jesus Christ, you know the man that died for our sins. If people would just stop and chill out and take the time to listen to the lyrics and not the sound they would see the real meaning of the song. Read between the lines is a saying that comes to mind in this topic.
Also, just because the sound is not like what people are used to that don't mean that they have to go and protest of it and make a big deal about it. Look at say The Beatles, their sound was not liked at first but now look they are one of the best bands in history. People learned to live with it and like it so why cant they do it with this type of sound.

Is Music the Career for Me?
I do in fact think that music is my calling! Its just not in the tech side of it. I do want to know what it takes to be a tech and to understand the equipment. I want to be the one performing is all. Singing is what I want to do and would love to have a career in it. I would love to have music as my career. Music to me is the funnest thing in the world. I would enjoy it and all that comes with it.
The fans, the fame and everything in between. Everything about being in a band is awesome to me. You get to travel, meet new people, do what you love to do and get paid for it. If music is the career for me that is what I would want from it.

My Thoughts On Music Tech
My first thoughts on music tech.....
Well it is a class where you have to be very committed to wanting to be there. to Some people (me) it might be a bit boring and they may loose track on many occasions. The class has given me better knowledge on what goes on behind the music that I enjoy. I do need more help on learning the basic terms and names on the sound board and how to properly use then and where to use them. The part that i find most challenging is the patients the class takes. For me I find that that is hard because I really want to be up there performing and getting my face out there. I do acknowledge the fact that with out tech there is no band i just don't want to be that tech I guess. I really want to see myself as being a responsible tech and show that i can be trusted in that environment.
